Planning a trip to Orlando – 2 week itinerary ideas

If you’re visiting Orlando and want to plan an itinerary, you’re in the perfect place. As there’s so much to do and see, it can be difficult to fit everything in so a plan is a must! We’ve put together a collection of action-packed (and more chilled out) Orlando 2 week itinerary ideas, plus plenty of tips for planning your own. Read on to find the perfect holiday plan for you.

Some things to note:

  • In each Orlando 2 week itinerary, we’ve tried to leave some free time where you can relax, go shopping, or check out another attraction you want to see. Freedom is essential!
  • We’ve left a lot of free evenings for you to choose what you want to do. Go out for a nice meal, explore the local bars or go to a dinner show – the choice is yours!
  • Lots of Orlando 2 week itineraries recommend full days in theme parks. We think that can bit a little too hectic. Arrive early and see the park at your leisure, leaving late afternoon if you’ve seen everything you want. This generally only works outside of the peak summer months.
  • All of our plans include key parks and attractions; however, you’ll also find time for unique experiences and attractions. Do your research to see what’s on offer and fill your free time with something you’ll love to try!

Things to keep in mind when planning an Orlando 2 week itinerary:

Top tips for planning an Orlando holiday - depicts Universal Studios dragon on building
  • Try to divide your days into morning, afternoon and evening. Breaking up your day allows you to fit multiple things into one day. Finished a theme park by 3pm? No problem, let’s go shopping!
  • Leave time for rest days or relaxation at the hotel. A free day could even include small activities such as shopping and mini golf, or something completely spontaneous! However make sure you wind down by the pool to re-charge. Tiredness can limit your holiday fun
  • Book attractions and events in advance before arrival. It’s often cheaper and you’ll save time when you’re there. That also goes for some popular restaurants!
  • If you’re going out on a day trip or to a particular theme park, see what’s nearby. You can save time by visiting attractions within close proximity of each other. For example, the excellent Orlando Premium Shopping Outlets are only a short drive from SeaWorld.
  • Pick out some top restaurants to try and book them in advance. Reservations are limited, particularly in Disneyworld, so you’ll want to reserve a time slot and arrange some of your activities around dinner and dinner shows. If you’re staying in a Disneyworld, consider buying the Disney Dining Plan. It’s excellent value.
  • Try to plan arrival at theme parks first thing on a morning. It’s a cooler temperature to walk around and less busy than the afternoon. Plus, you can fit in some afternoon swimming pool time if you manage to complete the park early.
  • A couple of weeks before you’re due to fly, check theme park opening hours and the days where parks are busy. You may want to re-arrange your itinerary to get more time in the theme parks and visit on less busy days.
  • Plan park visits for weekdays over weekends. There’s less crowds and queues. Weekends are great for day-trips, beaches, shopping and relaxation!
  • Finally, don’t feel like you need a perfect 14 day Orlando itinerary. You couldn’t possibly see everything in 2 weeks and having fun visiting the key things you want to see is so much better than seeing absolutely everything.
